Preliminary evaluation
Acting: In our preliminary task, the acting was not that good as we did not choose people with acting experience. For our main task however we will make sure we choose better actors to make a more realistic film opening.Sound: The dialogue in our preliminary is quite quiet due to filming outside with a small camera, for our main task a better camera and a mic will be used in order to pick up the best sound.
Lighting: We used natural lighting in our preliminary as it was a sunny day. However to avoid glare I needed to cover the top of the lense with my hand, this made the lighting better yet in some shots my hand is a little in it. Which meant we needed to edit it out.
Editing: Our editing was good, I think the cuts are in the right place and the music matches the scene. There was consideration for the 180 degree rule. One time we accidentally broke the 180 degree rule, but luckily we had gathered enough shots that we managed to just edit it with a different shot without having to re-film.
Filming: We included a tracking shot, close up, low angle shot, extreme high angle shot, two-shot and a long shot. So we thought we were quite successful in involving a large ammount of different camera angles.
What we've learned:
We had to re-film this multiple times, as the initial setting was not appropraite for the origional script. (In which it was set in a police interigation room). Then the previous actors were no longer available to film, so we had to start from the beginning as we needed new actors.
So for the main task, we will make sure that the setting has good mise-en-scene and is appropriate for the scene. We will also re-watch what we have filmed to make sure that no hands are in it, too avoid more trouble editing later.
